1925
Yoshio Hagiwara founded Hagiwara Printing in the town of Kanda-Misaki.
1953
Established Hagiwara Printing Ltd.
1979
Introduced Heidelberg monochromatic offset printing press (medium octavo – full sheet size).
1980
Constructed building for new headquarters and factory.
1982
Changed corporate organization to “Co., Ltd.” Introduced computer typesetting system “Berthold” for European languages to become more international and support various foreign languages.
1986
Introduced computer typesetting system IPS. Introduced Komori duodecimo (full size sheet) two-side printing press “Perfector.”
1988
Completed total printing system after setting up Plate Making and Printing Department.
1992
Completed Annex Graphics Factory. Komori duodecimo (half size sheet) 5 colored printing press. Transferred the Plate Making Department to the Annex. Established complete production line for books from typesetting to printing and bookbinding. Introduced Shaken computer typesetting system.
1995
Introduced two Apple Macintosh computers. Started transition to DTP.
1996
Introduced Akiyama duodecimo (full size sheet) two-side press JP-1P144. Improved printing quality. Established Digital Media Business Division. Started to support Multimedia, such as Internet.
1997
Released NETPublishers, a website service for publishing companies. Become popular in the industry. DTP: 10 Mac computers, 4 Windows computers.
1998
Makoto Hagiwara appointed president. Changed corporate name to Hagiwara Printing Co., Ltd. Established D-cube Co., Ltd. Completed new DTP digital work flow based on asset management.
2002
Acquired ISO 9001 certification.
2004
Acquired approval from law on supporting business innovation of small and medium enterprises.
2007
Completed Toda Factory. Relocated Press Section and Annex Graphics Factory to Toda Factory. Introduced A-size pocket book printing press.
2008
Changed business domain to a “company that supports the publishing business.”
2011
Introduced Komori LS-232 duodecimo (half sheet size) two color press. Reinforced binding printed materials.
2012
Environmental support was assessed and certified as a “Green Printing Factory” for our headquarters and the Toda Factory.
Received the “11th Japan Federation of Printing Industries Encouragement Award” at the JFPI Printing Industry Environmental Excellence Factory Awards.
Hagiwara Printing Co., Ltd. and D-Cube Co., Ltd. merged and Cross Media Department was established. Started new approach of being a “company that supports the publishing business.”
2013
Established Tono Office in the city of Tono in Iwate Prefecture.
